It is always an exciting situation when an artist intentionally decides to take a slight detour from what we would think of as their usual sound, or 'voice' if you will. While usually genuine in it's approach, this experimentation in styles can often lead to a compromised product that is not up to their previous standards.

Sweden's vägskäl rises above these inconsistent attempts at broadening one's inventiveness with this new four-track EP of uptempo electro-pop. Previously known for his dark ambient releases at Nishi, Enough, and here at Kikapu, vägskäl will definitely surprise you with this new detour in his music, and you might even crack a sly smile as he's doing it. Arriving at just the perfect time of the year, we're sure 'springtimes' will give everyone that extra little push into the warmer climates that we're all looking forward to.
